Something We Do in the Children’s Class

Hello all. I hope that you are all feeling fine on this beautiful day. It was warm and sunny today and I enjoyed the day with my windows wide open.

This past month, in the children’s class, we were learning about prepositions of location. Words like “in”, “on” and “under”. We played all sorts of games and by the end of the month, the kids had a pretty good grasp on these concepts. One song that we like to use in class is this one: In On Under

In On Under

(To the tune of London Bridge is Falling Down)

In, on, under, (Put two fingers of your left hand into your right hand fist, then place your left hand on top of your fist, then under your fist)
In front of, behind (point in front of you and then behind.)
In front of, behind (point in front of you and then behind.)
In front of, behind (point in front of you and then behind.)

In, on, under, (Put two fingers of your left hand into your right hand fist, then place your left hand on top of your fist, then under your fist)
In front of, behind (point in front of you and then behind.)
Next to me! (point to either side of you.)

A fun little song that will help you to remember prepositions of location.

((And special thanks to my Grade Six French teacher for teaching me this song in French first. Thank you Madame Dawson. ))
