Look Who’s Coming For Dinner.

As most of you already know, we’ll be hosting a homestay guest beginning next week. Kelly is from New Zealand and she is one of the chaperons watching over the rather large number of homestay visitors coming to Fukuoka prefecture. I have to say, it’s going to be a busy schedule. There are all sorts of parties and other activities laid out for our guests. The children on the homestay are all around eleven years old, so I’m sure Kelly will have her hands full while she’s here.

You are all invited to come and meet Kelly on the 19th of July at 7 pm at the school. I’ve mentioned this in class, but, I thought I’d repeat it here. We’ll have a pot-luck party and everyone can visit and get to know our guest. By pot-luck, I mean that everyone should bring one dish. It’s going to be very casual, so, don’t worry too much about what to bring. You can make something, or you can head to the store and buy something. Either is perfectly fine. I’m thinking of making those nanaimo bars that I put up last week. They looked scrumptious. (Hey, there’s a new word for you.)

Now here’s a question for all of you. A guest is coming to your house from another country. What kind of gift would you give them?
